GAA Partnership
In October 2002, representatives from imagine met with members of the GAA to discuss a unique fundraising initiative for the GAA. The idea was simple - members and supporters switch telecom providers and generate funds for their local GAA Club and save money on their monthly phone bill.

Discussions and evaluations took place for a further 18 months until the initiative was motioned and passed at the GAA Congress in April 2004 in Killarney. On the 26th May 2004, Gaelic Telecom was officially launched in Croke Park by Sean O'Ceallaigh former Iar Uachtaran Cumann Luthcleas Gael and the then Minister of Communications, Dermot Aherne TD.

Since it's launch in 2004, Gaelic Telecom's partnership with the GAA has grown from strength to strength. The initiative has been endorsed by all 32 County Boards who are registered with us, while over 3,000 GAA, Camogie, Ladies Football Clubs and National Schools have already benefited financially from this hugely successful fundraising initiative.

In addition to already raising over €3.9million, Gaelic Telecom has also been involved in funding several other key GAA events and initiatives.

These include:

  • The Club Development Manual
  • The National Club Forum
  • The GAA National Congress
  • The Club Officer Program 2008
